St. Joseph Villa is convent for retired Bernardine Franciscan Sisters and a care center for religious sisters, located adjacent to Alvernia University and the Motherhouse of the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters’ in Reading, Pennsylvania. Our care is guided by the principles of person-centered care; the emphasis of care is on the resident’s needs and preferences. Our goal is to maintain or enhance the quality of life of each resident by creating a culture of compassion in a homelike environment.
The first floor of the residence has a common dining room which offers the residents an opportunity to dine in a homelike atmosphere while enjoying conversation with other residents. A lounge on the first floor provides opportunities for reading, watching TV or movies, listening to music, doing puzzles or just relaxing in an easy chair.
Private bedrooms with half baths are located on the second floor. Kitchenettes and lounges are also available on the second floor for the convenience of the residents.
